The World’s Best Guide to Prevent Acne
If you want to prevent acne or learn how to get rid of acne, then there are some simple steps you need to take. Not only will you stop acne and prevent it, but you will keep that youthful appearance also.
There are three conditions that people have when it comes to acne:
Those who do not have acne and are not worried about it.
Those who do not have acne but are worried about getting it.
Those who have acne and want to get rid of it and prevent future outbreaks.
People Who Do Not Have Acne
If you are in this condition, then congratulations.
This means you are past puberty, you are not a young woman, you have no stress in your life, you are not taking oral contraceptives or you have no other conditions that may upset your hormones.
Essentially you do not have to do anything, but if you want to keep a youthful looking face as you age, then read about how you can prevent acne, because when you take action to prevent acne, you also keep a youthful appearance.
Acne is believed to be caused by an imbalance in your bodies hormones which occurs when you go through puberty, are under stress or even taking certain medications. When this happens, your body starts to secrete large amounts of sebum (oil) that then clumps dead skin together on your face clogging your pores and trapping bacteria inside the pores.
The immune system then takes over and starts taking action to rid the pores of the growing bacteria.
This causes inflammation of the pores resulting in acne.
If you believe you are going to be one of the over 50 million people in the United States that will develop acne, then you need to attack the sebum, dead skin, and/or the bacteria.
Here is how you go about attacking all three of these culprits involved with acne:
Cleansing – Buy a good cleanser designed specifically for your skin type. Ensure this cleanser is free of oils and focused on preventing acne. Cleanse your face once in the morning and at night before you retire.
Moisturize- In the morning after cleansing apply a moisturizer to keep your face hydrated. Try to get a moisturizer that has a sunscreen in it because it is highly recommended that you apply a sunscreen everyday, 365 days a year.
Exfoliate- This should be done once or twice a week.
Taking these three actions will go along way at preventing you from developing acne by removing sebum, dead skin and bacteria. An additional benefit to preventing acne this way is that it also helps at keeping that youthful appearance. Try making this regiment part of your everyday lifestyle for that youthful appearance.
Already Have Acne
If you already have acne it is important that you do not try to pop the pimples or acne. This could result in permanent scarring of your face.
Here is some action you should take to start getting rid of your acne and prevent it from coming back:
Visine- To start removing the acne currently on your face, you should try Visine, the eye drop remedy. Apply this to individual pimples and let dry. Though not immediate, after several days you should see a reduction in the size and color of your pimples.
Cleanse -You should also cleanse your face but not as vigorously as those people without acne. You want to do it lightly so as not to irritate your acne.
Moisturize- Apply moisturizer very conservatively but mainly in the dry areas.
Exfoliate- You still need to exfoliate your skin to remove the dead skin. It should be done at least once a week with salicylic acid.
The last thing you should do is look at the type of your acne breakout you have. If it appears to be more of rash, then your immune system may be applying more inflammation than is needed.
This inflammation comes from an over abundance of Omega – 6. Omega – 6 is found in process foods, saturated fats and sugar. To reduce inflammation, reduce your consumption of processed foods, saturated fats and sugars. Then increase your consumption of green leafy vegetables, poly unsaturated fats and Omega – 3.
By reducing Omega – 6 and increasing Omega – 3, you will get the proper balance and improve your skin complexion.
No matter which of the three groups you fall into, all groups should cleanse, moisturize and exfoliate. Plus each group should look at the ratio of Omega – 6 to Omega – 3 to ensure it is proper to prevent inflammation. Taking these actions will prevent acne scars.
