Among scrubs and cleansers, Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, Clean and Clear Continuous Acne Cleanser, and St Ives medicated Apricot Scrub for Oily or Acne-prone skin is preferred. Cetaphil cleansers are effective on sensitive acne skin and Clean and Clear, containing 10% Benzoyl peroxide, is better for an oily complexion. St Ives is designed for both of the skin types. Many dermatologists prescribe oral antibiotics for acne skin care such as doxycycline, tetracycline and minocycline. Again the benefits must be medically considered against possible complications like vertigo, stomach upsets and reduced efficacy of birth control pills in women.
